These notes are intended to help you choose which areas to head for. Cycling routes close to Bike Express drop off points are available from the CTC. These routes are scenic, following quiet roads and a few include alternative ‘off road’ sections.
Situated on the Garonne river, the historic city of Toulouse is surrounded by rich farmland with the distant Pyrenees visible on the horizon.

The area surrounding the city is relatively flat offering some fairly gentle cycling. The towpath alongside the Canal du Midi is popular with cyclists and can be ridden for some 40 kilometres south west of Toulouse.
