| Good access to the Jura mountains (see above) and further east the French and Swiss Alps. For easier cycling head for the plateau of the Dombes (south east of Macon) whose small lakes and marshes are very popular with bird watchers. Or why not explore the hills and vineyards of Beaujolais, the Charollais and Lyonnais mountains and beyond these the Massif Central. | |
